Description Dennis Freise 2004-01-09 05:11:46 UTC
I found the following on the bincimap-mailinglist:

----------

From: Andreas Aardal Hanssen <andreas-binc@...>
Date: Fri, 9 Jan 2004 10:09:16 +0100 (CET)

A bug has been discovered that causes saving of messages to lock up in
1.2.4.

1.2.4 is therefore not recommended over 1.2.3 for production systems.
Expect a 1.2.5 quite soon that fixes this problem.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Andy :-)

----------

I can confirm that. Any messages moved to any folder completely lock up bincimap. Please mask that version and wait for 1.2.5 as the author says...

OK. I just masked it.
Thanks,

1.2.5 has been released -- check out bug #38167 for an explanation that refers back to this bug.

BincIMAP 1.2.5 and the 1.2.6-beta-versions seem to still have problems with the APPEND command, and Andreas still recommends 1.2.3 as the currently most stable release. I've tried 1.2.5 and it works fine for me, but I'm in a single user environment. There is a very specific issue with Mozilla Thunderbird (Mozilla hangs while saving messages), many other clients seem to work fine.
Please wait for a final version 1.2.6 before bumping.
