Description Jan Jitse Venselaar 2004-01-07 09:23:25 UTC
The portage changelog (http://www.gentoo.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/portage/ChangeLog?rev=HEAD&cvsroot=gentoo-src&content-type=text/vnd.viewcvs-markup) is not really intuitive. I cannot see which changes apply to what versions, and for new versions in the stable portage tree (currently 2.0.49-rx) I cannot find at all what changes have been made.
I think a split per minor version will help this enormously, to see if there is a need to update, or if possibly disruptive changes have been made.

Reproducible: Always

maybe this should be done in echangelog
Comment 2 Jason Stubbs (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-28 07:24:46 UTC
Putting a hold on feature requests for portage as they are drowning out the
bugs. Most of these features should be available in the next major version of
portage. But for the time being, they are just drowning out the major bugs and
delaying the next version's progress.

Any bugs that contain patches and any bugs for etc-update or dispatch-conf can
be reopened. Sorry, I'm just not good enough with bugzilla. ;)

Closing due to old age.
