=x11-base/xorg-drivers-1.10 seems to be missing in this list?
Created attachment 277531 [details] x11-stable-list Indeed, thanks for pointing out.
The following packages of the list are already stable: app-admin/eselect-mesa-0.0.10 x11-drivers/xf86-video-nouveau-0.0.16_pre20110323 x11-libs/libX11-1.4.3 x11-misc/xkeyboard-config-2.2.1-r1 (keyworded x11-misc/xkeyboard-config-2.3) x11-proto/xproto-7.0.21 x11-terms/xterm-269

On my system (amd64, mostly stable) xcb-util-0.3.8 and startup-notification-0.10 block each other. I had to upgrade to startup-notification-0.12 or downgrade to xcb-util-0.3.6 with this list applied.

On a stable amd64 system running pulseaudio, =media-sound/pulseaudio-0.9.22-r2 also needs to be stabilized since the most recent stable version =media-sound/pulseaudio-0.9.22 depends on <x11-libs/xcb-util-0.3.8. This makes portage skipping the xcb-util updates and startup-notification updates.
works for me on amd64 as expected.
amd64 done. Thank you all for your reports
Created attachment 278047 [details] x11-stable-list Added x11-drivers/xf86-input-joystick-1.6.0 I was notified on IRC that it was missing from the list.
Re-adding amd64 for x11-drivers/xf86-input-joystick-1.6.0 stabilization, sorry for causing extra work.
not hw to test but compile is ok.
arm stable
x11-drivers/ati-drivers-11.6 (amd64) has as issue here: when the pointer moves into the lower right corner of the screen the machine becomes unresponsive for a few seconds. Here the position is close to a 24x48 pixels rectangle about 96 pixels from the right edge and on the bottom edge (at the first desktop button in the pager applet from gnome panel, from left to right that is trash button then pager with 4 desktops) These sizes just a rough estimate given the panel size of 24. Moving the pager to left (vs bottom) orientation has no effect on the 'freeze space'. Moving into the space from the left there is a slight delay before the freeze occurs, moving into the space from the right or above and the pause is immediate. brief testing with x11-wm/compiz-0.8.6-r3 x11-wm/metacity-2.30.3 xfce-base/xfwm4-4.8.1 (the problem existed with x11-drivers/ati-drivers-11.5 -don't know about 11.4). will switch into KDE DE and then XFCE DE to test if it is specific to Gnome DE. However KDE and XFCE have their own issues here (as does metacity -hence the use of compiz).
> (at the first desktop button > in the pager applet from gnome panel, from left to right that is trash button > then pager with 4 desktops) that should be right to left
