LKML Anouncement: http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=linux-kernel&m=107290948911293&w=2 In brief: The major changes since the 011 release are: - updated ide devfs compatible script - command line options are now available, allowing you to query the udev database. This is just a first cut, the query functionality will be extended later. - lots of minor bug fixes and tweaks. Available at: kernel.org/pub/linux/utils/kernel/hotplug/udev-012.tar.gz Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
it looks like the following patches are no longer required: udev-011-ide-devfs.patch udev-011-namedev_c-gcc295-compat.patch udev-011-unlink-before-symlink.patch udev-011-ide-devfs-form-fixes.patch looks like the changes from the patches have been included in stock. there's just a minor difference in the wording of a dbg line or two, but the code looks all the same to me. still need this one: udev-011-no-wait-for-sleep.patch haven't looked at these yet: udev.conf udev.permissions udev.rules but the announcement mentions something about gentoo regarding these files.
Created attachment 22939 [details, diff] patch for udev-011.ebuild for 012 changes removed patches as noted in previous comment, fixed path in source for etc files since they moved, gentoo rules & permissions etc files are included now so install those instead.
Yes, check LKML - I am on it ('udev and devfs - The final word' thread) :) Right, Greg added my patches - I will commit tonight after some testing.
Btw, it would be nice if they did the ChangeLog a bit more to the reality - both the changes to the ide-devfs.sh script and some other fixes was from me (just some variable name changes, or slight reorg of things from upstream), but no credit to Gentoo :/
Added 012 to portage.
