New spidermonkey and gpac adverse interaction is my suspect.

Most of these functions have been removed in dev-lang/spidermonkey-1.8.5; the maximum version that this package could work with is (on 2011-07-29) dev-lang/spidermonkey-1.8.2.15

Ebuild dependencies need to be updated; when spidermonkey-1.8.5 gets unmasked this package will fail -- note, this might mean masking this package.
Comment 8 Ian Stakenvicius (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-08-04 19:21:21 UTC
(just fixing the version number in summary)
Comment 9 Ian Stakenvicius (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-08-04 19:36:18 UTC
Upstream has patches which support spidermonkey-1.8.5 as of April 8th, 2011. A new patchset and revbump should fix this bug.
Comment 11 Ian Stakenvicius (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-11-22 14:05:02 UTC
Right -- apparently the spidermonkey-1.8.5 support is broken, and other distros are just disabling javascript support, so let's do that too.

Marking reso/cantfix

Disabling javascript for gpac-0.4.5-r4 was a reasonable workaround for this bug. But the recent version dropped javascript use flag. Now gpac-0.4.5-r5 cannot be compiled for the same reason as -r4, but now I cannot diasble javascript.
It seems removing $(my_use javascript js) from the ebuild would still result in an attempt to use the broken spidermonkey support anyway.
Please reintroduce javascript use flag, or explicitly make gpac forget about spidermonkey support.

Thanks:
Attila
Comment 13 Attila Tóth 2011-11-25 19:24:35 UTC
I've opened a new bug for gpac-0.4.5-r5.
