Description Luis Cortes 2003-12-21 10:06:44 UTC
I have confirmed that emerge-ing iproute to your system causes kde to attack really slow. Specifically, starting a new kfclient will take 1-2 minutes. Starting KDE may take 5 minutes if network is started before kde.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install gentoo normally
2. emerge iproute
3. start a dialup session
4. attempt to open kfclient
5. Drive to starbucks -- it may be a while before it comes up.

Work around, unmerge iproute -- this is not really a long term solution.

Actual Results:
Really slow performance for KDE.

Expected Results:
Normal Performance.
