I've just noticed that kdebase-3.1.4 keeps failing to compile on my SMP system (MAKEOPTS=-j3). This was reproducable, and all tries crashed at the same place. However, when running "MAKEOPTS="-j1" && emerge kdebase" everything went smoothly (but slowly) by, and kdebase got installed as expected. Just a heads up for both users and developers. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge kdebase-3.1.4 with MAKEOPTS set to more than -j1 2. 3. It also fails to compile on my single CPU system, unless I also override the MAKEOPTS="-j2" in make.globals with MAKEOPTS="-j1".
For me this works with -j3 on a HyperThreading CPU. Can you post the output when it fails?
need more info.
Close dead old bug originally resolved "needinfo".
