Patch attached that kills pppd in the event that the init.d script is
started and stopped premature to the pppd establishing a connection.

i think this is a dup of 26920, not sure though

I've had a look at that bug, and it does seem to do the same thing, and
adds additionalle functionality.  I would suggest, in that case, to close
this or label as dup.
