Description rad_scorpion 2011-03-10 14:10:42 UTC
As I try to build a chrooted uclibc environment, I encountered this error:

fifthbeatle ~ # emerge uclibc -pv
!!! CANNOT IMPORT HTTP.CLIENT: cannot import name HTTPSConnection

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!

!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "uclibc" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- sys-libs/uclibc-0.9.30.1-r1 (masked by: invalid: SLOT: invalid value: '-pc-linux-uclibc')
- sys-libs/uclibc-0.9.30.1 (masked by: invalid: SLOT: invalid value: '-pc-linux-uclibc')
- sys-libs/uclibc-0.9.30 (masked by: invalid: SLOT: invalid value: '-pc-linux-uclibc')
- sys-libs/uclibc-0.9.28.3-r8 (masked by: invalid: SLOT: invalid value: '-pc-linux-uclibc')
- sys-libs/uclibc-0.9.28.3-r7 (masked by: invalid: SLOT: invalid value: '-pc-linux-uclibc')
- sys-libs/uclibc-0.9.28.3-r3 (masked by: invalid: SLOT: invalid value: '-pc-linux-uclibc')
- sys-libs/uclibc-0.9.28.3 (masked by: invalid: SLOT: invalid value: '-pc-linux-uclibc')
- sys-libs/uclibc-0.9.27-r1 (masked by: invalid: SLOT: invalid value: '-pc-linux-uclibc')

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Reproducibility is very unclear to me, since I'm trying to build an embedded environment for about a week, and I've done many steps. I have so far upgraded the portage, gcc, python-2* to the latest stable.
I already reemerged uclibc itself, and now here I am. I think, updating the portage to EAPI 3 caused the issue. So, the steps probably would be:
1. create a uclibc environment from stage1-x86-uclibc-2008.0.tar.bz2.
2. upgrade the portage to EAPI 3
3. emerge uclibc

Expected Results:
I think, instead of
[[ ${CTARGET} != ${CHOST} ]] \
        && SLOT="${CTARGET}" \
        || SLOT="0"
every ebuild has to have just
SLOT="0"
as it is done in uclibc-0.30*, which are ~x86. I'm going to try and check it.

I'm sorry, I was mistaken about how it's made in the latter versions, it's the same story there, and they don't work either.
And I checked the bug inside my working environment, it's the same. I'm trying to solve it by myself, but no progress so far.
Comment 2 Andrey Batyiev 2011-03-11 23:33:53 UTC
I confirm this. I'm using clean install of crossdev environment.

Comment 3 Andrey Batyiev 2011-03-18 19:24:27 UTC
It looks like some metadata problem:
1. add one whitespace symbol into uclibc-*.ebuild (any one)
2. ebuild uclibc-*.ebuild digest
3. it compiles
