It would be nice to compile the KDE ebuilds with complete debug information. This can help the developers a lot, especially in beta versions of KDE (like now in 3.2.0_beta2).

Is it possible to take the USE flag "debug" for this?

Just do it. The kde.eclass takes care if the debug use flag is set. But you're right. It would be better to add debug to IUSE and maybe a good idea to hardcode it in beta ebuilds.

In the eclass like mentioned.  The IUSE gets added during inherit time.
