Description Matthias Muthmann 2003-12-08 15:38:57 UTC
I am using the Gentoo-kernel-sources 2.4.20-r9. I was trying to capture video
from a dvcam over a via-ohci firewire card. I used the dv1394-driver. Everythink
worked fine, until I pressed the play-buttun of the cam to start the
transmission. Then the system freezed every time I tried it out (btw. the cam is
a Sony TRV-235E).
I have also found a solution for the problem: I downloaded the latest
firewire-driver from http://www.linux1394.org/ , and compiled the kernel and the
modules with the new driver. Since then it works.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Connect dv-cam.
2. Load dv1394 driver.
3. Start Kino and try to capture the film over the dv1394-interface.
4. Press the "play button" of the cam.

Actual Results:
The system freezes.

Expected Results:
Capture the film.
