Brings kernel 2.6.37 support and maybe a tear-free desktop option

Please add it to the tree.

It seems that a simple version bump is all that is needed. I'll attach the ebuild I used to install on my system, removing the use of the 2.6.36/2.6.37 patches plus a patch about allowing fglrx to compile, as I assume its all working now.

Thank you. I already sent an ebuild to lu_zero. I guess he is busy for now, he didn't answered. I think it will be bumped as soon as lu_zero will have time :)

I dont think you can use the AMD 69XX series cards without this driver.

I've tried to use the attached ebuild (i have a 6970) , and i'ts failed to compile, not sure what i'm doing wrong, can someone explain how to use it?

After messing around with it for a little while I worked out why it wasnt compiling. The ebuild works perfectly fine.

69xx are usable even with 10.12, just an annoying "unsupported hardware" watermark is on the screen. Is the watermark gone with this version? I'm hesitating as to messing with this ebuild or waiting till it hits the tree.
Comment 7 Enrico Tagliavini 2011-02-13 22:19:52 UTC
afaik it is still there, but it should go out with 11.2 i think
Comment 8 moncojhr 2011-02-14 00:20:18 UTC
I've used this ebuild with my 6970 and the watermark is not there.
Comment 9 ScytheMan 2011-02-15 20:06:08 UTC
11.2 is released today.
Comment 10 Enrico Tagliavini 2011-02-15 21:20:19 UTC
Thank you for the news. I packaged and tested it. A little mod in the ebuild is needed, they moved a folder and now provide the same binary for all Xorg 7.* versions. I also sent the ebuild to lu_zero.

Cheers
Comment 11 ScytheMan 2011-02-15 21:25:59 UTC
thanks, can you add your ebuild here?
