Description Sergey S. Starikoff 2011-01-27 14:30:49 UTC
I've tryed to see the description of use flags of www-plugins/adobe-flash to decide want I to install it or not.
It means that I've don't read the license "agreement" yet.
And got very strange error report.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. "AdobeFlash-10.1" (now) license not accepted.
2. $ equery u www-plugins/adobe-flash
Actual Results:
[ Searching for packages matching www-plugins/adobe-flash... ]
!!! No matching packages found for "www-plugins/adobe-flash"

Expected Results:
[ Searching for packages matching www-plugins/adobe-flash... ]
[ Colour Code : set unset ]
[ Legend : Left column (U) - USE flags from make.conf ]
[ : Right column (I) - USE flags packages was installed with ]
[ Found these USE variables for www-plugins/adobe-flash-10.1.102.64 ]
 U I
 - - multilib : On 64bit systems, if you want to be able to compile 32bit and 64bit binaries
 - - nspluginwrapper : For amd64-multilib, installs www-plugins/nspluginwrapper to allow use in a 64-bit browser. (Not recommended, see http://bugs.gentoo.org/324365)

If license is accepted (echo "www-plugins/adobe-flash AdobeFlash-10.1" >> /etc/portage/package.license) actual result match the expected one.

Comment 1 Brian Dolbec (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-01-28 15:42:23 UTC
This is fixed in gentoolkit-0.3.0_rc11-r3.

I have it it installed in my system, equery worked, I changed my ACCEPT_LICENSE parameter, it still worked, emerge as expected complained about the license.

The -0.2 series of gentoolkit equery more specifically was coded before the ACCEPT_LICENSE parameter was part of portage.

As -0.3.0 final is very near release, It is not worth fixing in the 0.2 series.
I recommend upgrading to -0.3.0_rc11-r3
Comment 2 Paul Varner (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-01-28 15:47:03 UTC
This will not be fixed in the gentoolkit-0.2 series.

Additionally, the easiest workaround so you don't have to edit any files is:

env ACCEPT_LICENSE='*' equery u <pkg>
