Anyone that wants to install KDE 4.6 will need to enable semantic desktop support because =kde-base/kdebase-runtime-meta-4.5.95 requires =kde-base/attica-4.5.95, which requires semantic desktop support.

Is there any possibility that =kde-base/kdebase-runtime-meta-4.5.95 could be modified so that the =kde-base/attica-4.5.95 dependency is removed when the semantic-desktop USE flag is disabled?

I'd like to request this as well.  I don't use any of the "semantec-desktop" functionality, and would much prefer to do without all of the unnecessary dependencies as I've been able to do previously.

sigh, that should be semantic-desktop, of course.  Curse Symantec, I can never remember the proper spelling of the word anymore.  :-)

Seems to be fixed in 4.6.1. Please reopen if not.
