The file present on the server is significantly smaller than expected (3641812 bytes vs 4931059) and contains no object files mentioned in bug 350194.

Ah, the tarball was fixed upstream (ref #1299 on rephial.org) changing the md5sum from 0497188f8862600ef0193c85680cefce to 9a66d0ba724d43678c5eb3f484e041aa.

Lines 39-43 can be removed from the ebuild now.
