Description Jack Edge 2011-01-14 19:46:06 UTC
www-client/chromium-8.0.552.237, builds and runs successfully, provided we also supply the ebuild for the ffmpeg-0.6_p25767 dependency.

chromium requires no changes from the straight ecopy

ffmpeg has a small difference, patch supplied.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

which is surprisingly simple. So, are you (chromium team) interested in supporting chromium on Gentoo Prefix?

I hope you don't mean to remove other keywords, but add ~amd64-linux at the end.

LGTM

If that means you'll take care of any resulting bugs, sure.

wrt KEYWORDS, yea. I shouldof left that off, sorry.

About the bugs, we will try but we kinda need to rely on your chromium experience too.

On a last note, Jack, did you test any other versions. We normally only use the latest.

The newest versions (chromium-10*) recently unbundled the dev-lang/v8 javascript library, so you will need to keyword that as well.

chromium-8 is too old to use in Gentoo Prefix. Need at least the 9 series and 10, or just 10.

Long latency on the response, but 9 also builds and runs from straight ecopy.

Could you just test the latest version, i.e. 10? Chrome moves quite fast, so we're going to have 11 in dev channel pretty soon.
Comment 10 Fabian Groffen gentoo-dev 2011-09-24 17:46:15 UTC
chromium 15 needs the same arch logic as v8 it seems. We don't have all deps at the moment to test compilation

*** Bug 385587 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Comment 12 Fabian Groffen gentoo-dev 2017-11-14 12:47:48 UTC
Since we merged the trees, chromium is just available for Prefix.
