which version of app-arch/tar is installed? IIRC some was broken in this regard, see bug 343921

IIRC some was broken in this > regard, see bug 343921 > I applied that patch manually from 343921. rezipped the original 1.9.2 file,regenerated the the necessary hashes and reran ebuild on the icedtea6-1.9.2.ebuild . This took me a couple of hours figuring out how to cut/paste the bits to the Manifest file,found kate was the better option todo this under KDE, now compilation is proceeding as it should,as I send this off.
Please upgrade sandbox to 2.4
