Description Cedric Sodhi 2010-11-21 17:47:39 UTC
gimp-9999 does not work. Emerging it fails with a message that no configure script has been found. As I've been told on #gimp that's because autogen.sh has to be run first. Given that such a fundamental thing is not accounted for I asume the devel package is insuffiently maintained and might not even account for dependencies.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
ACCEPT_KEYOWRDS='**' emerge gimp

Please post your `emerge --info media-gfx/gimp' in a comment and attach the entire build log as a file.

Tomáš, I'm adding you since you've worked on gimp recently. Maybe add yourself to metadata.xml? :)
Comment 5 Tomáš Chvátal (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-11-30 08:36:46 UTC
Actually autogen.sh is ran, problem is that live version needs dev-util/gtk-doc unconditionaly or something :(

Really this is more gnomish question than i can answer :)
My stuff i did around gimp was just because we in x11 team bit broke it so i needed to fix our mess :)
Comment 6 Gef 2010-12-26 16:18:20 UTC
Either depend on/emerge dev-util/gtk-doc, or apply a simple patch to the live ebuild to append --disable-gtk-doc to ./autogen.sh (I have chosen that option, for a few months now)

Updated live ebuild

Updated ebuild for media-gfx/gimp-9999
1. Resolved doc useflag issue (--disable-gtk-doc appended to ./autogen.sh invocation)
2. Updated dependency on glib (required version is now 2.28.1 minimum, this version is currently masked by package.mask)

+ 31 Aug 2011; Sebastian Pipping <sping@gentoo.org> gimp-9999.ebuild:
+ Pass --disable-gtk-doc to autogen.sh in live ebuild (bug #346341)
+

Fixed, closing.
