I realized this today which seems to happen only for few man pages :

tfoerste@n22 ~ $ man halt
Error parsing *roff command from file /usr/share/man/man8/halt.8.bz2

tfoerste@n22 ~ $ man reboot
Error parsing *roff command from file /usr/share/man/man8/halt.8.bz2

tfoerste@n22 ~ $ man shutdown
Error parsing *roff command from file /usr/share/man/man8/shutdown.8.bz2
