Is klash work for you? For me not. I even don't know how to check when plugin is loaded.

If Lightspark is running, System Monitor shows ? // I have too old hardware to test. If Html5 is running, System Monitor shows only konqueror.
gnash-0.8.9 now installs the files to the correct directories. For the kpartdir vs. plugindir issue, the best place to report this is upstream's bug tracker.
