Description Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2010-09-03 12:17:23 UTC
Since media-fonts/ttf-bitstream-vera is becoming deprecated (see bug #282754),
I am reviewing packages still depending on it for trying to make them depend on
virtual/ttf-fonts or media-fonts/dejavu

The problem with www-misc/xxv is that I think it really requires
media-fonts/ttf-bitstream-vera and, then, if you are able to confirm that,
could you ask upstream to think about moving to media-fonts/dejavu?

Thanks a lot

Reproducible: Always

Are you sure the dep cannot be replaced by virtual/ttf-fonts? Looks like the path I can read in ebuild is not bitstream exclusive

shure, the finaly seded line is
/usr/share/fonts/ttf-bitstream-vera

anyway,
iam changed this to
-e "s:\$RealBin/../share/fonts/ttf-bitstream-vera:/usr/share/fonts/corefonts:" \

it should be possible to use here in the sed line dejavu also,

DEPEND=virtual/ttf-fonts is not possible, bcs. we need an exact defined font, the sources don't using fontcache :(

xxv works, but has very low maintainance on upstream
