Description Lisa 2010-08-28 10:11:40 UTC
Revdep-rebuild emerges gnome-extra/yelp (which is broken on my system and requires liblzmadec.so.0) who depends on gtk+. Gtk+ fails to emerge during checking phase.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.revdep-rebuild or emerge -v gtk+
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Fails during checking phase

Expected Results:
Compile without problems

I haven't updated my system for a while (6 month - 1 year). Now it strucks on this gtk+ problem. I rsynced my portage-tree then installed some Perl and Ruby ebuilds (needed by GCstar and Alexandria collection managers). I emerged chromium-bin to but needed to unmerge it for some package blocking problem.

I tried to counter the upgrade of my already installed gtk+ version (which is ok for yelp-2.28.1-r2) to avoid this problem, but I have the same kind of failure when revdep-rebuild tries to emerge this particular version of yelp too (Package libpng12 was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `libpng12.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
Package 'libpng12', required by 'cairo', not found
).

I reemerged libpng-1.2.44 (which created a new slot) but it doesn't seems to help.

Hope some one can help.

Lisa.

Try this

1. /usr/sbin/libpng-1.4.x-update.sh
2. emerge -1 pango cairo gkt+

Thanks a lot, it work fine.
Feeling a bit stupid though, I did run /usr/sbin/libpng-1.4.x-update.sh and then re-emerged gtk+ alone. Which failed.
Any way thanks a lot.
