Description Simon Watson 2003-11-14 11:52:46 UTC
The init.d scripts for net.eth0 have been updated. This updated breaks my 3com
905 card (3c900). It pops up with the error that there was no carrier detected -
but there blatantly is, as when I commented out the detection stuff it worked
just fine!

Thing is - this could be a kernel driver bug - but it appears to have a rather
adverse effect on a popular type of network card.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

2.

I experienced this problem as well with my on-board VIA Rhine (not sure if this is what it is, but it's what I enabled in my kernel.), after upgrading baselayout
I looked on the forums and someone mentioned that you can do:
dhcpcd eth0
and that worked fine for me.
A new release of baselayout is definetely in order.
