Description Sascha Beck 2010-08-11 20:51:34 UTC
Executing showmount -e causes the error: clnt_create: RPC: Can't encode arguments.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. execute showmount -e
2.
3.

Actual Results:
(On x86_64)
# showmount -e
clnt_create: RPC: Can't encode arguments

(On i686)
# showmount -e
Segmentation fault

Expected Results:
Expected is a list of path's exported via nfs.

This problem seems to be related to libtirpc. After upgrading to >=libtirpc-0.2.0 the problem disappears. It seems that nfs-utils should depend on >=libtirpc-0.2.0.

I am running partially ~amd64 which is probably why I found this problem.

Confirmed here on my x86 system.

After emerging =net-libs/libtirpc-0.2.1-r1, showmount does not longer segfaults and works as expected.

Sorry, this bug isn't useful anymore.
