Description Carl Michal 2010-07-28 06:13:07 UTC
If I start my gnome session with startx, automounting doesn't work. If instead I run gdm and start my session with it, automounting works great.

In the startx session, a dialog appears when mounting is attempted that says "Unable to mount (whatever) Not Authorized." I can still mount the disk with gnome-mount.

I see this with gnome-2.28, but apparently its a problem with gnome-2.30 as well. There is a workaround posted at
http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-833907-start-0.html
which is to add these two lines:

export XDG_MENU_PREFIX=gnome-
exec ck-launch-session gnome-session

to .xinitrc

that does solve this problem for me, but it seems that ck-launch-session should be used to start the session from within /etc/X11/Sessions/Gnome (maybe after checking if consolekit is running?)

Reproducible: Always

Could you try the "fix" in the duped bug?

Thanks
