media-gfx/exiv2-0.20 needs MAKEOPTS=-j1 on my 4 core Phenom II here.

The output of

  emerge --info

would be nice as well.

Sorry, it doesn't seem to be reproducible.
Since I've emerged it with MAKEOPTS=-j1 (after initial failure)
I've lost the log files.

Lars and I couldn't reproduce it, too. 

Feel free to reopen if anyone can reproduce this problem.
