rrdtool-1.4 comes with rrcached which is a daemon to spool cache data in memory for less disc I/O as I understand it - it needs an init script. If no one takes this I should have it easily done on the weekend sometime Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge rrdtool 2. /etc/init.d/rrdcached 3. profit!!!! Created attachment 315047 [details] rrdcached.initd I noticed the original requestor's init script went missing so I created my own. Its not perfect so maintainers are free to fix it. We probably should add an rrdcached user in the ebuild as well.
