Comment 2 Kris Hepler 2010-07-08 06:49:49 UTC
I ran into the same problem with GCC 4.3.4 -- it's a typo in one of the header files. Attaching a patch to resolve the compilation issue.

It still crashes with a buffer overflow a little into the OSX boot process, but suspect that is unrelated to this bug.

updated ebuild to apply my last two patches
Comment 6 Kris Hepler 2010-11-03 03:13:02 UTC
It appears newer version of gcc give additional compile errors regarding
discarding const qualifiers in "src/system/file.cc" (previously a warning?).
Posting a patch as well as an ebuild that applies the patches.

How do I get this ebuild into the tree?
Comment 7 Samuli Suominen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-04-06 16:18:08 UTC
CC treecleaners because this fails to build with gcc-4.5, and gcc-4.5 tracker is now closed. The time to fix the package is up. It's now targeted for removal as abandoned.
Comment 8 Sebastian Biallas 2011-07-13 16:18:01 UTC
I (the main author of pearpc) just released pearpc 0.5, which fixes the issues. So, if you are still interested in keeping pearpc in portage, please update to 0.5

Thanks,
Sebastian
Comment 9 Markos Chandras (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-08-01 18:59:27 UTC
gone. The maintainer of the package failed to respond in time
Comment 10 Kris Hepler 2011-08-01 20:41:09 UTC
pearpc-0.5 builds fine when the ebuild is renamed to reflect the new version (and USE="-jit" on amd64).

I'm willing to take-over ebuild maintenance. I'm currently testing 0.5 on x86, amd64 and ppc; I'll submit a new package bug when ready.

Please CC me on that bug so I can work with you and bring this package back to tree
Comment 12 Kris Hepler 2011-08-21 01:20:05 UTC
Bug 380021 is the new package request for pearpc-0.5.
