Description Andrew Brouwers 2010-05-01 01:37:10 UTC
Currently, no version of alpine is available on the stable branch. Works well on mine machine locally. and no major bugs present in the tracker. It would be great to get a version stabilized.

Reproducible: Always
Comment 1 Michael Weber (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-06-17 13:29:57 UTC
No action from maintainer, adding arches
Comment 2 Agostino Sarubbo gentoo-dev 2011-06-18 12:26:22 UTC
If no objections, I belive that last version is best to stabilize.
Comment 3 Agostino Sarubbo gentoo-dev 2011-06-18 12:31:09 UTC
adding topal because is a depend.
Comment 4 Agostino Sarubbo gentoo-dev 2011-06-18 12:41:00 UTC
checking better, topal pulled in dev-lang/gnat-gcc-4.3.2, it have some issues and fails to compile atm for me ( Bug 372179 ). So i can't test topal.
It should be a good idea wait.

amd64:

alpine-2.00-r4 can emerge, gnat-gcc does not compile in stable.
topal therefore cannot be tested
Comment 6 Elijah "Armageddon" El Lazkani (amd64 AT) 2011-07-14 03:03:36 UTC
amd64:

gnat-gcc fails. topal consequently fails.
alpine with all flags except topal passes.

Long standing bug. amd64 will pass
Comment 9 Thomas Kahle (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-08-20 16:36:28 UTC
Everything is fine with gnat-gcc-4.3.5 which I'm aiming to stable in bug 379983. I'm taking the liberty of readding amd64. Thanks.

There are ways to install gnat-gcc and 4.3.5 worked for me. I think alpine should go stable. No stable user will see a regression here because this is a first time stable. Also the people who alread have alpine installed will not see a regression, and a working 4.4 version of gnat-gcc will go stable soon.

I did the following list:

=mail-client/alpine-2.00-r4
=net-mail/topal-72
=dev-lang/gnat-gcc-4.3.5

Thanks for testing everybody.
x86 out.

I did the same for amd64. Thanks Elijah, Ian and Agostino
Comment 12 Raúl Porcel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-09-03 16:45:01 UTC
alpha/ia64/sparc stable
Comment 13 Michael Weber (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-06-12 21:02:41 UTC
i'll try ppc with dev-lang/gnat-gcc4.2.3:4.2, because everythin newer fails.
Comment 14 Michael Weber (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-06-13 09:48:35 UTC
ppc stable, closing
