Description Q 2003-10-21 12:25:34 UTC
Hi I have installed Xine-libs 1_rc1. However all applications relating to xine, such
as Gxine, Kxine, Xine-UI etc are reporting that I still have an older outdated version
of Xine installed. (0.9.13 to be exact). I have emerged unmerged xine-lib and this
reports my version of xine-libs as follows:

media-libs/xine-lib
    selected: 0.9.13-r3 1_rc1
   protected: none
     omitted: none

>>> 'Selected' packages are slated for removal.
>>> 'Protected' and 'omitted' packages will not be removed.

So, it seems that the version reported as xine-libs 1_rc1 is actually a much older
outdated version.

In any case this old version refuses to work on my system. Typing xine at the CL
gives #xine command not found. The build apprears to be fake.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="¬x86" emerge xine-libs
2.Try to install any other software that depends on xine, such as kxine, gxine and so
on.
3.
Actual Results:
Builds will fail. Version listed appears fake.

Expected Results:
Corect version of xine libs should be installed.

could you unmerge again
Comment 3 Andrew Cooks (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-01-23 11:22:11 UTC
Please do "emerge unmerge xine-lib && emerge xine-lib"

If it's still a problem after that, please reopen this bug.

I'm closing this as TEST-REQUEST in the mean time.
