Interesting, but we'll need help testing!
Comment 2 John Lowry 2010-04-14 18:00:52 UTC
I will defenitely help out. One thing I was wondering about it appears to require RTAI, is that supported in Gentoo at all?
Comment 3 Chris Brown 2010-05-28 15:44:58 UTC
Last time I checked, which was years ago, no
As my laptop only runs the Mill I used the liveCD provided by EMC
However would be good to have this on gentoo
Comment 4 Hazimin 2010-12-16 21:50:26 UTC
I've wrote some howto on linuxcnc wiki.
Comment 5 Chris Brown 2010-12-16 23:03:32 UTC
I dont remember how I set mine up
I also dont use the liveCD anymore (comment #3)
I have been using vanilla-kernel 2.6.32, rtai and the git emc2

I will run through the wiki now to see if I can get a working emc2. I wont know until I get home if the actual GUI works and I can control my mill
Comment 6 Chris Brown 2010-12-16 23:42:45 UTC
Point 2.1 needs to include information about initially getting an appropriate hal-linux patch file first

and being gentoo
'eselect kernel'
