I will defenitely help out. One thing I was wondering about it appears to require RTAI, is that supported in Gentoo at all?

Last time I checked, which was years ago, no
As my laptop only runs the Mill I used the liveCD provided by EMC
However would be good to have this on gentoo

I dont remember how I set mine up
I also dont use the liveCD anymore (comment #3) 
I have been using vanilla-kernel 2.6.32, rtai and the git emc2

I will run through the wiki now to see if I can get a working emc2. I wont know until I get home if the actual GUI works and I can control my mill

Point 2.1 needs to include information about initially getting an appropriate hal-linux patch file first

and being gentoo 
'eselect kernel'

Thanks, I've updated the wiki.

Btw, anyone feel free to edit the linuxcnc wiki. 
There's no registration, just put your username and type "emc" as administrator password.
