Description Matti Bickel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-04-02 10:36:42 UTC
This is a tracker bug (read: no discussion should occur here, create new bugs and make them block this one). It tracks the problems found with the current php-5.3 ebuild.

For now you can get it at: http://github.com/GiDiS/gentoo-php-rewrite

You can get it from the php team overlay after 6th April. I will post instructions on how to do that here.

We are working on getting a version of php-5.3 into the portage tree, but still need pieces of eclass infrastructure in place before we do that. As soon as this happens, this tracker will only monitor issues with this version. When there are no critical blocker bugs anymore, php-5.3 will be unmasked.

Thanks for your help in testing this.

Random search on bugs.php.net turned up problems for sparc with mysql. See URL for details.

Patch for install eblit

Typos in var name. It can get ${sapi} from global scope, but I think that it must use the local var ${phpsapi}

No more issues that can be resolved right now. I'll give php-5.3.2 an additional week in package.mask and if no other issues are added here, I'll push it into ~arch for wider testing.

I guess 5.3 is sorted out and our bug list is manageable again. APC I will take care of in it's own bug. Gallery I don't know right now. I'll fix it today if it's still failing.

Thanks all for helping!
