Description Philip Allison 2010-03-31 13:10:29 UTC
fcron (3.0.5-r2) seems to install two files, /etc/fcron/crontab and /etc/fcron/fcrontab, and suggests running "check_system_crontabs -v -i -f" post installation. This results in no fcrontab for the "systab" user, because the check_system_crontabs script looks for "/etc/crontab" and "/etc/fcrontab" by default.

"check_system_crontabs -v -i -f -F /etc/fcron/fcrontab -C /etc/fcron/crontab" works.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install fcron
2. Run "check_system_crontabs -v -i -f"

Actual Results:
Shell output:

---
Rebuilding fcron systab.
13:47:20 installing file /tmp/fcrontab.19ueFf for user systab
13:47:20 systab's fcrontab contains no entries : removed.
Modifications will be taken into account right now.
---

"fcrontab -l systab" lists an empty file.

Expected Results:
Shell output:

---
Rebuilding fcron systab.
13:52:47 installing file /tmp/fcrontab.DZlYqJ for user systab
Modifications will be taken into account right now.
---

"fcrontab -l systab" lists what it should.

Solve temporal this problem:

check_system_crontabs -v -f -i -F /etc/fcron/fcrontab -C /etc/fcron/crontab
Comment 2 Wolfram Schlich (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-05-12 14:30:44 UTC
Diego, what did you do? :)
Comment 3 Wolfram Schlich (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-05-12 14:35:44 UTC
With 3.0.6 it's even worse: check_system_crontabs is now called check_system_crontabs.sh ...
Comment 4 Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-08-01 16:06:59 UTC
This should be okay with 3.0.6-r1.
