GPE has been in very very slow development ever since, it depends on GTK+-2 and their website is not up to date. The mobile hardware has become more than capable to run E17, even Gnome-3 so I'm not motivated to do the stabilization anymore.

If you (users) would like to see this stabilized, let me know.
