Today (2010 Mar 08), I was unable to start evince. D-Bus not built with -rdynamic so unable to print a backtrace Aborted I have neither updated evince nor dbus since evince last worked. Rebuilding evince and dbus does not appear to help. Running revdep-rebuild does not rebuild anything or help either. Note that I do remember seeing a warning about dbus whenever starting evince before (though I'm not sure if it's the same), but the error in dbus-connection.c line 2509 is new. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open terminal 2. Run evince 3. Observe error in terminal Actual Results: Evince does not start. Instead, it displays the error message above. Expected Results: Evince should start. Note that I don't have the Gnome desktop environment installed. Note that my dbus is sys-apps/dbus-1.2.3-r1. that's probably >=glib-2.22.3 ABI break strike back, could you try rebuilding dbus-glib and see how it goes ?
Thanks! I rebuilt dbus-glib (and rebooted, just in case) and it fixed the problem. I'll close this bug as fixed.
