I recently upgraded from 2.22 to 2.26 and I am seeing the issue described here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/274016 I have two IMAP accounts set up with SSL in evolution and only one is affected. Most notably, the affected account has a certificate that has a root CA that isn't known by evolution. After many minutes pass the operations eventually go through. The first time I noticed this, the SSL message to approve the certificate popped up at the end of the timeout, which is why I suspect that to be related. This occurs every time I restart evolution. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Restart evolution Actual Results: "Checking for new mail (...)" "Refreshing folder (...)" I can click on the X for refreshing folder but then it just moves to the left in the operations bar. No other effect by clicking X. Expected Results: It goes fast like it did under 2.22.
It also happened once when I was switching to the Inbox on the affected IMAP account but I was not able to reproduce this subsequently. The timeout took about 3 minutes.
How does it behave on a new created user account? Can you try with evolution-2.28?
Please get back to us and reopen when providing requested information Thanks
This is working under 2.28.3.1 with the existing account.
