could you check if this error occurs with a more recent version of gcc, say gcc 4.4 ?

i will, but have to merge gcc 4.4 first .. gimme 2 days

hi there, i merged gcc 4.4, without switching to it (gcc-config),i recompiled glib and all of a sudden it worked ... sorry for the hassle
