remove flags gd-external. I used with wordpress and si-captcha-for-wordpress plugins cause rare bug, it don't show letters in the image, recompile whitout gd-external run fine. And gd not update from 2007-06-21 Reproducible: Always
First, let me say sorry for responding so late. But I don't get your report: gd-external lets php use the system's gd library (which is good). If some applications don't work with the external libraries this is either a bug in the library or in the application itself, not with php enabling you to use the external library. Please file a bug with the package in question (with media-libs/gd, if you can show this is a bug in the library). Btw, I just checked and the upcoming php-5.3 bundles libgd-2.0.35, which is the same as media-libs/gd-2.0.35 :) We as php team can't do anything about this, so the report is closed as WONTFIX.
