Description Arfrever Frehtes Taifersar Arahesis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-02-01 19:10:28 UTC
dev-lang/python-2.5.5 was released on 2010-01-31.
I'm planning to write an additional patch, so please wait some time.
Comment 1 Dirkjan Ochtman (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-10-27 09:28:00 UTC
What's the patch for?
Comment 2 Dirkjan Ochtman (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-06-27 08:40:19 UTC
Any news on this?

I will backport some patches (for distutils, building on mips etc.) from 2.6.* patchsets to 2.5.* patchsets.

Is it possible to also backport patch from http://bugs.python.org/issue7788?
That bug affects current dev-lang/python-2.5.4-r4, causing it to segfault:

>>> a = list(range(10))
>>> del a[9::1<<333]
Segmentation fault

If an ebuild for dev-lang/python-2.5.5 is still planned, please see Bug 394143 relating to installation under Linux 3.x.

HTH.

Python-2.5 is not in the tree anymore. Closing.
