fedora uses this patch to fix this issue: http://cvs.fedoraproject.org/viewvc/rpms/inkscape/devel/inkscape-0.47-newpoppler.patch?content-type=text%2Fplain&view=co it should work with all versions of poppler. but I'll have to test it first.
That patch works for me (on ~x86)
Patch also works here in x86_64.
Can you provide a .diff for the ebuild (on how to apply the patch)? I tried this, but it couldn't find epatch command at preparing? src_prepare() { epatch "${FILESDIR}"/${P}-poppler-0.12.3.patch gnome2_src_prepare }

would be nice if someone put the fixed ebuild as soon as in portage
