Comment 4 Todd Walter 2010-01-19 14:23:16 UTC
dev-python/setuptools needs to be added as a dependency as it fails to install without it.

The ebuild already specifies this dependency.
Comment 6 Todd Walter 2010-01-23 19:25:53 UTC
Not to be contrary, but I would not have commented if that dependency resolved itself during the emerge process. I emerged this package on a clean install using the 10.0/desktop profile and it proceeded directly to installing coverage-3.2 which abend's due to setuptools missing. It is probably machine specific, I'm not knowledgeable enough to say, but I had to emerge setuptools first before coverage would install cleanly. I don't have access to the PC in question at the moment; I can post the emerge --info, etc on Monday if you wish.
Comment 7 Todd Walter 2010-01-23 19:46:19 UTC
I think it's safe to say this is machine specific. I tested on both an i686 and an x86_64 at home and it works as expected. I have no idea why it failed at work.
