we could do it the way we did the openssl upgrade ... copy the old libs over and print a big-old warning about running revdep-rebuild

Mike, I have no issues if you do it like that, just note that openssl did
not
end up this way.  I however will prefer it this way, as all systems will
then
not have the older libs as the current situation with openssl ...

umm so are you suggesting we unmask it and have people run revdep-rebuild
?

added support for upgrading from 4.1 to 4.3/5.0, and from 4.3 to 5.0
