As stated above, when i boot off the CD (weather it be a live CD, the no stages
one, or any ISO I can download (MD5 cheksum verified), the bootup always hangs
showing the last line of "mesh: configured for synchronous 5 MB/s".

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Get a MDD G4
2.Try to boot off any Gentoo disc
3.Watch it hang

Actual Results:  
It hung

Expected Results:  
booted and let me install the greatest operating system known to man

A lot of improvement has been done to the 2004.0 CDs.  You should check these.

This bug has been inactive for more than 90 days.

Can this problem be reproduced with a new (2004.2 at this time) LiveCD?
