Description Matthew Schultz 2009-11-24 17:50:51 UTC
Command I'm using:

qemu -vga std -m 512 -hda /dev/sda -usb -net nic -net tap,ifname=tap0 -daemonize

kvm-88 did not have any problems with this command. It found my tap0 device that I already have up and used that. Now it insists on looking for /etc/qemu-ifup even though I don't want it to run qemu-ifup.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

Actual Results:
Does not use tap0. It looks tries to execute qemu-ifup anyway.

Expected Results:
Use already running tap0 device.

Have you tried:

-net tap,ifname=tap0,script=no

Doing that allowed my vm to access the existing tap0

I already tried that and that did not work. Again works fine in kvm-88-r2 with or without script=no.

qemu-kvm-11.0 was dropped from the tree so I'm closing this bug.
