My realplayer (media-video/realplayer-11.0.1.1056-r2) isn't working.  As a start at dealing with the problem, I tried an "emerge realplayer" and got

emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "media-video/realplayer"

Why is RealPlayer no longer in the official Gentoo in it?

this is a simple rename from the original realcodecs-11.0.1.1056-r1.ebuild

without realcodecs realplayer wouldn't install for me

I tried to download realplayer (.rpm) from real.com but got a 5Mb file.
It seems corrupted. rpm2tar refuses to convert it!
Did anybody find the same problem?

I can confirm this issue. The original RPM file should have 8,655,672 bytes.

I rewrote parts of the ebuilds to use the .deb file.
Pls. use it with care. There are things I don't know why they are there.

A developer should look at them and verify if they are correct.
I don't know to much about writing ebuilds. Just the basic things.

A codec named wmv9.so is missing in this new version.
