this tool is java based, and allows to conveniently install/remove quake1 maps/map packs featured on http://www.quaddicted.com/ build dependencies - git + dev-java/ant. ant quakeinjector.jar builds the application with no issues (jdk-1.6). the only issue might be that this tool requires initial configuration of quake1 directory, temp directory, and quake1 client . in case of darkplaces maps can safely be installed in ~/.darkplaces of current user. don't know about other q1 clients.
