This is a development release leading up to exo 0.6.0. The new API additions are not yet finalized, so there may be incompatibilities between this release and the final 0.6.0 release. The API version of exo has been changed from 0.3 to 1, to make it easier to bump minor and major version numbers in future releases. To compile against this version of exo, you have to change exo-0.3 to exo-1 in your configure file. This backwards-incompatible change has also been used to remove deprecated APIs or APIs that are now provided by Gtk 2.14 or Glib 2.18.

And after that, check the rest. Everything else now works, I've patched them.
Is media-video/parole a suitable replacement for media-video/xfmedia yet as parole is currently marked as ~ where xfmedia is stable?

Programs with stalled development are moved into upstream's git archive tree: http://git.xfce.org/archive/ http://git.xfce.org/archive/xfmedia/ Patches are still accepted, if you decide to give it a whirl. I bet I can even get it applied in git.

FYI, xfce4-panel-4.7.0 requires exo-0.5.1. It is a rather major bump. :) (not yet it tree)
3 issues blocking us from unmasking: - only in upstream git in separate branch, xfce-extra/thunar-shares-plugin - only in upstream git in separate branch, xfce-extra/thunar-vcs-plugin - new (unreleased) garcon-0.1.2 will be needed for xfdesktop-4.7.0 for menu files
closing. 4.8.0_pre2 is in ~arch and just about everything works now (some plugins are broken, but they have their own bugs)
