Which version of libxml2 do you have? I have 2.7.3-r2, and I cannot reproduce this test failure.
(In reply to comment #1) > Which version of libxml2 do you have? I have 2.7.3-r2, and I cannot reproduce > this test failure. this happens with libxml2-2.7.3-r2 USE="examples ipv6 python readline test". try with LINGUAS provided in `emerge --info`.
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=581012 fixed in 2.28 and git with the commit http://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-games/commit/?id=c4c028ccba3b3fd2ff15ab6b82712a5c272c7755 Do you (GNOME team) prefer a patch or a ebuild workaround for 2.26 in portage?
If it's fixed in 2.28, don't bother.
For some reason this bug is semi-linked to the gcc-4.4.3 porting tracker, so closed this one too -> workaround added to the old gnome-games ebuild.
