Most of the fonts in icewm are not displayed or some strange symbols appear instead. The menu appears, but the fonts used there are kinda strange (i think they are not anti-aliased correctly, in some places the fonts are too thin).
Created attachment 17810 [details] look at the title of the application to the right of rxvt (the app is Epiphany)
What version of icewm does this occur on? Which theme are you using? Does this happen with the default themes? Do you run XFS? What version of Xfree86?
icewm 1.2.13_pre2 metal2, but it happens on the other themes no XFS xfree 4.3.99.11, but it happened with 4.3.0 too I also have some problems with the xml libraries, maybe this is related to it... (epiphany-bin:22996): XML-CRITICAL **: Entity 'lt' not defined
Does it happen on previous versions of IceWM? do you run IceWM alone or as gnome WM? i can not reproduce bug with 1.2.13pre2 and xfree 4.3.0-r3 which you state showed the same effect with or w/o xfs
try reinstalling all your fonts cannot find glyph indicates the character that is tried to be displayed is not found in that font also check 'emerge -vp icewm' and make sure the appropriate configure options were chosen regarding anti aliasing of fonts (side note since you think that doesnt work either)
So... I've got tired of this and reinstalled gentoo... all seems to work fine now. I really don't know what caused that... Thanks for your patience.
