The error seems to be clash between two symbols:

Comment 2 Priit Laes (IRC: plaes) 2009-10-16 11:24:19 UTC
Found an upstream bug: http://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=10105
Comment 3 Priit Laes (IRC: plaes) 2009-10-16 11:58:29 UTC
And upstream patch:

Comment 4 Priit Laes (IRC: plaes) 2009-10-19 05:52:35 UTC
Why was it marked RESOLVED FIXED?
Comment 5 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2009-10-19 06:11:03 UTC
it's already fixed in a newer version

Yeah, but bug is about `USE="gold" emerge binutils`failing..
Comment 7 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2009-10-19 19:43:37 UTC
and the answer is to upgrade. gold is experimental and in active development. we're not going to waste time backporting code (often significant) to address every gold bug.
